Although today’s XKCD is relevant, I thought the idea of having more clarity in the star ratings (like Amazon’s) would be good. So I coded that up real quick, and it’s live now.

So instead of getting just the count, you now get the rating as a number (3.8 out of 5 stars, for example), and you get a 5-bar chart showing the counts for each rating made.

Okay, so, I’ve gotten like 12 responses already. If you’re reading this and have already emailed me, make sure that a) you’re capable of doing a Google Hangout at the email address you used to email me, and b) available starting 5-6ish pm Central time tomorrow. Do your own time conversion. 😀

I just think that this sort of discussion would benefit more from a real-time conversation as opposed to having my Twitter feed spammed 80 times in 20 minutes or so. Hangouts have proven to be interesting for this in the past, and I’m game for moderating it too.

I don’t expect anything to be decided, I just want to have the conversation. We’ll continue the conversation at the summit meeting for those who are there and able to make it. I dunno. Community makes it hard to predict outcomes, for obvious reasons. 🙂

BTW, if I can, I’ll record the audio. Not sure that I can, or what I’ll do with it, but please fully expect what you say to be public information. Limit the cursing, think of the children. 😉
